Culture Repair & Leadership Alignment
Seeing what culture really is and how it can best be harnessed
We don’t sit in judgement of existing organisational cultures. The question we address is – does it continue to serve your evolving goals? Our work on culture begins with taking the pulse i.e. ‘a culture audit’. We can then reflect back to the stakeholders what we believe the culture currently is. We can comment on whether the stated goals and aspirations of the organisation are aligned with the culture. That can be the end of our work.
Or, we can progress into the next phase of creating culture change. It is then up to the organisation to decide to what extent the goals need to be reassessed, and to what extent the culture needs to change to better serve the goals.
As with everything we do, we take a systemic view. It is not productive to tweak different parts of the system, without due regard to the impact and any unintended consequences.
Some of the places we look at for clues of congruence include the reward system, leadership styles, feedback loops, attitudes to conflict, conflict resolution mechanisms, risk aversion, how information flows within the system, the myths and ghosts- to name but a few.
